What's Included
What do I get with the free plan?
The free plan gives you:
- 12 essay marks per month (with a free account)
- 4 marks without signing up (anonymous trial)
- Access to all exam types (NAPLAN, Selective, HSC, VCE, IELTS, General)
- Full rubric feedback, strengths, weaknesses, and improvement plan
- Sentence-level corrections
- Progress tracking (with account)
Free is genuinely useful for occasional practice. If you're preparing seriously for an exam, or a teacher marking multiple students, Pro gives you unlimited access and more powerful tools.

How much does Pro cost?
- Monthly: $9.99/month
- Annual: $59.99/year (saves ~50% — equivalent to $5/month)
Annual billing is the best value if you're using the platform regularly throughout the school year.
Is there a free trial of Pro?
The free plan is your trial — you can explore the core marking experience before deciding to upgrade. There's no time-limited Pro trial, but the free plan gives you enough to judge whether the feedback quality is right for you.
Billing & Payments
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe, a trusted payment processor used by thousands of Australian businesses. Your card details are never stored on kidswriting.ai — they're handled securely by Stripe.
When will I be charged?
- Monthly plan: You're charged on the day you subscribe, then every 30 days.
- Annual plan: You're charged upfront for the full year on the day you subscribe, then annually.
You'll receive a receipt by email after each payment.
Can I switch from monthly to annual?
Yes. Go to Account → Billing and click Manage Billing. From there you can switch to the annual plan. The change takes effect at your next renewal — you won't be charged twice.
Can I get a receipt or invoice for my records?
Yes. Every payment generates an email receipt. You can also access a full billing history and download invoices from Account → Billing → Manage Billing.
For school purchases, invoices show kidswriting.ai as the vendor. If you need a specific invoice format for school finance, contact us at support@kidswriting.ai.
Cancellation & Refunds
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — there are no lock-in contracts. You can cancel your subscription at any time from Account → Billing → Cancel Subscription.
When you cancel:
- Your subscription won't renew at the next billing date
- You keep full Pro access until the end of your current paid period
- Your essay history and account data are preserved
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your account and all your marking history stay intact. You revert to the free plan (12 marks/month) but nothing is deleted.
Do you offer refunds?
We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods — but because you keep access until the end of your paid period, you're not paying for something you can't use.
If you were charged in error or had a technical issue, contact us at support@kidswriting.ai and we'll sort it out.
Can I pause my subscription?
Not currently — you can cancel and re-subscribe when you're ready. Your history will be waiting for you.
Schools & Multiple Users
Can I buy Pro for my whole class?
The current Pro plan covers one account. A teacher on Pro can mark unlimited student essays from their own account — students don't need their own Pro accounts for classroom use.

Does each student need their own subscription?
No — a teacher on Pro can mark essays for any number of students from their account. Students on the free plan can mark up to 12 essays/month independently.
If a student wants unlimited independent marking and access to the AI Tutor and Personalised Lessons, they'll need their own Pro subscription.
Is kidswriting.ai eligible for school purchasing?
Yes. If your school needs a purchase order process, invoice-based payment, or specific procurement documentation, contact us at support@kidswriting.ai.
Promo Codes
Do you have promo codes or discounts?
We occasionally run promotions for schools, tutoring centres, and community groups. If you have a promo code, enter it on the pricing page before subscribing.
